Huawei presented this Thursday its new true wireless headphones, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro. Headphones that rely on their noise reduction that Huawei describes as “best” on the market.
As we suspected and it is no surprise that Huawei finally officially announced on Thursday its new in-ear headphones, the FreeBuds Pro. It must be said that in recent days, the brand’s true wireless headphones had already been largely unveiled by the WinFuture site.

Their official presentation, however, allows us to learn a little more not only about their design, but also about their characteristics and the functions carried by these noise-canceling headphones. Because yes, like the Huawei FreeBuds 3 introduced last year, and the Huawei Freebuds 3i, the FreeBuds Pro have active noise cancellation. On this feature, Huawei does not go all the way, claiming that this is the best active noise reduction on-board headphones, therefore better than those of the Sony WF-1000XM4 and Apple Airpods Pro. To do this, thanks to the two microphones used, these headphones can block up to 40 dB of sound, compared to 38 and 33 dB for competing headphones – not named.
Noise Reduction That Adapts To Your Environment :
Still regarding noise reduction, Huawei announces that it has developed a system called “dynamic noise cancellation” which allows noise reduction to be adapted to the outside sound environment. No need to push noise reduction to the maximum in a library, headphones can reduce it on their own. The three modes (cozy, general or ultra) can however be defined manually. A system that is ultimately reminiscent of Qualcomm Adaptive ANC’s announcement last week. Of course, a transparent mode is also available.
In addition to noise reduction, the headphones are equipped with 11mm diameter transducers – or speakers – as well as a mechanical audio stabilization system that is supposed to prevent shaking in the ear for more precise sound. For calls too, Huawei announces good voice pickup using three microphones in addition to the bone conduction system already used on the FreeBuds 3.

For the controls, while the FreeBuds Pro draw heavily on Apple’s AirPods Pro, they sport cubic rods. A choice the Chinese giant made for functional reasons since by pinching the rod the user can change the noise reduction mode and, by sliding their finger over it, they can change the volume on the fly. Finally, Huawei announces 4h30 of autonomy with noise reduction, seven hours without and a total of thirty hours thanks to the charging case.
Freelace Necklace Earphones Also Can Reduce Noise :
The FreeBuds Pro are not the only headphones announced this Thursday by Huawei. The Chinese group also presented new Bluetooth neckband headphones, the FreeLace Pro. Again, these are headphones with an active noise reduction system reducing 25 to 40 dB of volume. The headphones have 24mm drivers and have a very long battery life of 24 hours.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro are available in three colors: Carbon Black, Ceramic White and Silver Frost. They will be available from October 5 at 199 euros (about 235 dollars). For any pre-order between September 16 and October 4, Huawei will offer a Huawei Band 4 Pro bracelet. For their part, the Huawei FreeLace Pro will be launched in three colorways, Graphite Black, Spruce Green and Dawn White, at a price and date that have not yet been announced.
